Jaku KonbitÂ’s Summer Camp is an annual program geared to children and youth of African and Caribbean descent. Our program is unique to the Ottawa area, not only because it caters to Black-Canadian children and youth between the ages of 8 and 16 years, but it is quite affordable. In addition, children and youth of African and Caribbean descent gain valuable exposure with respect to both their African and Canadian heritage and culture through many fun and engaging activities in a safe, secure and warm environment.

Registration

Children and youth are admitted to the program on a first come first serve basis. At the time of registration the Program Coordinator will familiarize you and your child with the program and our staff. This will be a good time for you to discuss your childÂ’s personality, likes, dislikes and special needs with the Program Coordinator.

At this interview you and the Program Coordinator may complete registration forms for your childÂ’s enrollment. You will be asked to provide your contact information and phone number(s) for an emergency contact. (An emergency contact is the name, address and telephone number of a person who can pick up your child if you cannot be reached). Once again, it is your responsibility to ensure that this information is kept up to date. Please be sure to do so. At the interview, you will be given a start date for your child with the understanding that this space is available providing you comply with the program policies and procedures and that the program is suitable for your child. If you have any questions or concerns about your childÂ’s progress or behavior at any time during his/her stay in the program, an appointment with the Program Coordinator can be arranged.
