GreenStar Enterprise Community Garden
Mission
- To introduce youth and seniors to the knowledge and experience of how food grows via community gardening
- To promote healthy lifestyles through wholesome food, nutrition and physical activities
- To facilitate the development of leadership skills, teamwork, advocacy and a positive attitude for success

GreenStar Enterprise Community Garden is a youth led initiative designed to encourage and engage Black Canadian youth and other minority to participate in self-employment opportunities around nutrition, healthy food, and physical activities.
The GSE project intends to build a youth advocacy group for increased access to healthy eating and physical activities in their community. The purpose of involving youth is primarily to engage them as effective agents of change by contributing their unique perspectives and desires to take action.
In addition, this initiative also serves as an introduction and inspiration for the youth to consider social entrepreneurship and leadership in the fields of environment and healthy living.
Looking for Volunteers
Do you enjoy being outside, working hard and getting your hands dirty? Are you interested in growing fruits, vegetables and flowers? Jaku Konbit is looking for volunteers to work in our gardens.
Various jobs include: planting, weeding, moving mulch, composting and assisting gardeners.
