Biography

Jordi Ibalanky was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in Kinshasa. He arrived in Canada when he was 9 years old, and he holds an undergraduate degree in Mechanical engineering from the University of Ottawa.

Throughout the years, Jordi has been involved in various sports (basketball, volleyball and badminton) and activities such as Live It Up, which is an Ottawa initiative that aims to increase awareness among youth and school staff of the need to address youth inactivity.

Jordi has been a member of Jaku Konbit for more than 5 years - organizing, planning, and promoting various events.

He has likewise served as the president of a non-profit (Junior Chamber International Ottawa), and treasurer of Miss Congo Canada.

Jordi is currently pursuing a career as a mechanical engineer working for OZ Optics, a fiber optics company, based in Ottawa.
